Description
The author was the most famous traveller of his time. His voyages began in 1271 with a visit to China, after which he served the Kublai Khan on numerous diplomatic missions. This book offers a fascinating glimpse of what he encountered abroad: unfamiliar religions, customs and societies.
Review
The translation is excellent. The English is clear and modern, but preserves the flavour of the original … It will doubtless become a standard work and will deservedly take its place as one of the best English translations of Marco Polo’s account of his travels — Stephen G. Haw
About the Author
Marco Polo (Author)
Marco Polo was born in 1254, joining his father on a journey to China in 1271. He spent the next twenty years travelling in the service of Kublai Khan. There is evidence that Marco travelled extensively in the Mongol Empire and it is fairly certain he visited India. He wrote his famous Travels whilst a prisoner in Genoa.

“The book is what i expected, a good clear print, with a beautiful hard cover.
I had paid extra for the gift wrapping which was a total rip-off!!! it wasnt even wrapped… it was put in a red cardboard box which wasnt good quality and had amazon written all over it. I expected what i saw in the gift wrap icon- an elegant brown wrapping sheet and something tying it together, instead i received this, which made me feel embarrassed to gift it as i had received.”
